Speed Alert allows users to monitor their speed and receive an auditory alert when exceeding their desired speed limit by 5 mph/kph. The app supports both mph (miles per hour) and kph (kilometers per hour).

The latest update includes support for Speed Limit and manual alerts. By default, Speed Limit mode automatically determines the speed limit based on your driving location. Alternatively, manual mode allows you to set the speed limit as per your preference.

The app utilizes Open Street Map Nominatim to fetch location-based speed limits. While the accuracy of these limits varies, ongoing improvements in OSM data coverage are expected to enhance precision globally.

Originally designed for vehicles, Speed Alert can also be utilized during running or walking activities. The minimum alarm speed is set at 3 mph or 4.8 kph.

When using an iPhone in landscape mode, the map display is concealed; switching back to portrait mode will restore the map view.

When an alert is activated, the speedometer border turns red for visual indication.

The default speed units are mph, with options to switch to kph in the settings. Users can customize alert voices and sounds within the app settings as well.

The default Alert Speed is preset at 55 mph with a speed range from 0 to 120 mph. When switching to kph units, the alert settings adjust accordingly. A red dot on the speedometer signifies the Alert Speed, while the current speed and units are displayed in the middle of the speedometer.

To enable a speed alert, users can slide and select their desired speed before clicking 'Turn Alert On'. Once the vehicle exceeds the alert speed by 5 mph or 5 kph, recurring audible alerts will be triggered until the speed drops below the threshold or 'Turn Alert Off' is selected.

The embedded map above the speedometer showcases your current location during navigation. Tapping on the annotation circle reveals detailed address information. Users can copy current location data—address, latitude, longitude, and altitude—by clicking on the house icon in the top left corner.

The app retains settings such as Alert Speed, Day/Night mode preferences, selected Speed Units (mph/kph), and alert sounds across sessions.

Users can seamlessly switch between Speed Limit and Manual modes for road speed restrictions or customized limits.

Day/Night mode provides color schemes optimized for varying ambient lighting conditions.
